When DeRUCCI Malaysia unveiled its latest innovation—the T11 Pro AI Mattress—at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur on 3 April 2026, the objective went beyond launching a new premium sleep product. The event was designed to introduce a new category of AI-driven sleep technology to the Malaysian market while reinforcing DeRUCCI’s position as a leader in the evolving wellness and sleep-tech space. The launch was further strengthened by the announcement of a strategic partnership with Getha, signalling the brand’s long-term commitment to growth and innovation in Malaysia.

From a public relations standpoint, the campaign’s success was driven by meticulous on-site media management and a carefully planned post-event dissemination strategy that ensured the story extended far beyond the ballroom.

In the lead-up to the event, media engagement focused on attracting a balanced mix of business, lifestyle, consumer and trade publications. This approach recognised that the story was not simply about a mattress, but about the intersection of technology, health, wellness and innovation. By cultivating interest among multiple media segments, the team created the foundation for broad-based coverage that would appeal to both consumers and industry stakeholders.

On launch day, media management became the centrepiece of the campaign. Journalists and content creators were carefully guided through a programme designed to showcase not only the product’s technological capabilities but also the larger narrative behind the brand. Dedicated media registration; coordinated briefings and structured opportunities for interviews ensured reporters had access to key spokespersons and clear story angles. The event was further supported by designated photo opportunities and a hands-on product experience session intended to give media first-hand exposure to the AI-powered sleep ecosystem.

The launch itself generated strong interest because it offered a tangible demonstration of how artificial intelligence could be applied in everyday wellness. Media were able to experience the product, interact with brand representatives, and understand the strategic significance of the partnership with Getha. These touchpoints helped translate a complex technology story into relatable consumer and business narratives.

While attendance and initial interest were strong, the campaign also delivered an important lesson in modern media engagement. Although dedicated product trial and photography sessions were prepared, many media representatives departed shortly after completing their primary reporting obligations. This limited participation in some of the deeper experiential elements planned for the event. Nonetheless, the team adapted by ensuring key visuals, product images, spokesperson quotes and supporting materials were readily available for immediate distribution after the event, enabling journalists to develop comprehensive stories even if they were unable to remain for the full programme.

This post-event dissemination effort ultimately became one of the campaign’s defining strengths. Immediately following the launch, media were supplied with press releases, high-resolution images, key messaging documents and supporting information that reinforced the event’s core narratives. The coordinated outreach ensured message consistency while making it easy for journalists across different platforms to publish stories quickly and accurately.

The results reflected the effectiveness of this approach. The campaign generated 23 pieces of coverage across 17 media titles, including online, broadcast, print and social media channels. Stories appeared in outlets such as Business Today, Marketing Magazine, Grazia, The Edge, The Rakyat Post, Siakap Keli and 8TV Living Delight, generating a PR value of RM198,390 and a potential social media reach of 28,960. Most importantly, coverage consistently reflected the campaign’s key messages around AI innovation, premium wellness and DeRUCCI’s expanding presence in Malaysia.

Ultimately, the campaign demonstrated that successful media relations does not end when an event concludes. Through disciplined on-site media management and robust post-event content dissemination, DeRUCCI successfully transformed a one-day launch into a sustained media story, reinforcing its position as a pioneer in Malaysia’s emerging sleep technology landscape.
